 The Victorian charms I am now offering are made from antique wax seals from the late 1700's and early 1800's, when letter writing was an art and wax seals were symbolic of ones feelings covering love, courtship, marriage, friendship, relationships and business. Proposals were often written by letter if a suitor could not bring himself to say the words! 

 Women of the Victorian Era often used scented pens and embellished their letters with ribbons and art work.  Friends were kept close at heart and lovers were even closer. 

 

Here are few charms that I'm offering:

 

SCOTTISH THISTLE ~  Made from an original wax seal dating back to the 1700's.  The thistle is the national flower of Scotland, the meaning "No One Provokes Me With Impunity".  The national emblem of Scotland, one thistle is said to have saved an entire Scottish army. A thousand years ago, during the Vikings invasion of Scotland, an advancing enemy warrior stepped on a thistle and cried out in pain inadvertently waking the sleeping Scotsmen. Scottish King Kenneth III was so grateful that he adopted the thistle as his nation's emblem.

 

BEE "Silent"  ~  Pictured is a honey bee with the word "Silent" inscribed on it.  Silence is

golden. 

 

DOG  "Faithful"  ~  Pictured is a dog with the word "Faithful" inscribed on it.  The represents loyalty and friendship.  Faithfully yours.

 

FLOWERS "Forget Me Not" ~ Pictured is a bouquet of forget-me-knots with the words

"Forget Me Knot" inscribed on it.  Very endearing, flowers represent friendhsip and love.

 

HEARTS "Forever" ~ Pictured is two hearts tied together with the word "Forever" inscribed on it.  I am yours forever.

 

HANDSHAKE "Friendship" ~ Pictured is two hands shaking in  friendship with the word "Friendship" inscribed on it.  The hand is a symbol of sincerity in friendship, business and love.

TRAIN "Quick" ~  Pictured is a locomotive with the word "QUICK" inscribed on it.  Arrive quickly, life goes quickly, respond quickly, return to me quickly.

 

ROOSTER "While I Live I'll Crow" ~ Pictured is a rooster with the saying "While I Live I'll Crow".  The crow is symbolic of pride, speak the truth and stand by your convictions.

 

CORNUCOPIA " God Gives Us" ~ Pictured is a cornucopia  with the saying "God Gives Us" inscribed on it.  God is good, fruits of the spirit, live life in abundance.

 

SHIP "Such is Life" ~  Pictured is a ship in waves with "Such is Life" inscribed on it.  A ship in waves indicates change, sail through lifes storms, be brave.
